Shoppers seeking the very latest in fashion, lifestyle, and food now have more to explore at The OC Mix, Orange County’s first food hall and artisan market that mixes at the center of South Coast Collection (SOCO). The center has widened its horizons with the addition of a new barbershop and three new retail stores, while celebrating the opening of fan-favorite, Moulin, and the expansion of We Olive.
The Getaway Barbershop, founded by Craig Thomas, is a new cutting-edge barbershop that will be opening its second location at The OC Mix later this year. Fueled by a desire to bring authenticity to each individual shop, Craig created a new name and brand for this location to ensure that a unique vibe is showcased. The Getaway Barbershop offers a high-end experience that runs by appointment only to ensure quality service and attentiveness to each individual. The barbershop offers a wide variety of services and focuses on celebrating each client’s unique style.
Van Brunt Optical Haus has returned to SOCO, bringing a new method to shopping for eyewear. Supporting independent eyewear brands that are anti-corporate and anti-mass production, owner Laura Van Brunt emphasizes the material, design, and handmade qualities of the frame in regard to the collections created. For prescription lenses, customers will complete an eye exam/assessment before collecting their current written prescription, which is then applied to their lens of choice and shipped back for dispensing and adjustment of their new glasses. You’ll find your new favorite eyewear at Van Brunt Optical Haus while supporting independent brands.
We Olive, now under new ownership, has announced the addition of a 120 sq. ft. kitchen, as well as 200 sq. ft. of expanded retail space that is expected to be complete by the upcoming holiday season. With the addition of the new kitchen and retail area, We Olive will also introduce new menu items for guests to enjoy, including flatbread pizzas and salads.
Local Fare has also opened a pop-up shop, Local Fare Kid’s Corner, which is located across the hall from its “parent” boutique inside the OC Mix. Open now through December 31, guests can shop various baby and toddler toys, accessories, apparel, and more. The pop-up will carry beloved brands such as Jellycat, Tender Leaf and Candylab Toys, Baby Aspen, and Milkbarn Kids, to name a few. Stop by between 11:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. Sunday through Friday, and 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Saturdays.
The ever-popular French bakery, Moulin, has officially opened its doors for the first time since announcing their new SOCO location earlier this year. Open Saturdays and Sundays from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., this fan-favorite provides Orange County foodies with real French cuisine and transports customers all the way to France with the smell of fresh, artisan breads and other culinary masterpieces.
SOCO & the OC Mix is at 3313 Hyland Ave Unit A23 & A24 in Costa Mesa.
